Be Joyful: Get Creative with Joy Boards

Joy boards mean one thing at our house: Messy fun.

Magazines scattered everywhere.

Glue sticks.

And tons of creative energy all around.

This is what creating Joy Boards looks like at our house.

Joy Boards are more commonly known as vision boards, but for young artists and creatives, it’s more fun to call them JOY boards — boards that just make you feel really happy when you look at them.

The purpose for creating a Joy Board is really about being creative and getting in touch with who you are and what you need most right now.

It’s really quote simple to create a Joy Board. All it takes are a few supplies and a creative mindset.

Old magazines with lots of pictures inside.

Quotes of any kind.

Glue sticks (we adore the glue sticks that start out as purple but dry clear!)

To get started, close your eyes and think about a single word that makes you feel calm, happy or peaceful. Choose that word to focus on as you search for words, images and quotes to add to your Joy board.

Cardboard from old boxes or toys (any size work but 6 x 6 is a great size).
